During a meeting held this Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Palais de Carthage with the government’s chef, Sarah Zaâfrani Zenzri, the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, expressed his concern in the face of the degradation of several public services and the multiplication of abnormal behaviors affecting the daily life of citizens.

The head of state has pointed out the recurring cuts of water and electricity, the accumulation of waste in many regions, damage to the public domain and the environment as well as the blocking of many projects. According to him, these dysfunctions are not the result of chance but are orchestrated by networks acting in the shadows to harm citizens for the benefit of influential lobbies.

In a press release published on the official page of the presidency, Kaïs Saïed recalled that the Tunisian State has the legal means necessary to enforce the law and continue anyone who tries to disrupt the normal functioning of public administration.

The president also informed the progress of the restructuring process of several public institutions, stressing the importance of preserving state finances and opening up new perspectives for young people. He insisted on the need to favor, in any designation or appointment, the criteria of patriotism, dedication and struggle. “Those who remain passive, as in a waiting room, or who hesitate between two camps, do not have their place in the Tunisian state apparatus,” he concluded.
