Considering on November 19, the exhibition “What Palestine brings to the world”, currently standing at the Institute of the Arab World in Paris, will be extended until the end of the year.
This was decided by the management of the IMA with regard to the great success that the exhibition is experiencing with the public.
The exhibition, which opened its doors on May 31 at the Institute of the Arab World, in Paris, and which was to be held until November, will finally be extended until the end of the year.
“Do you like it?” We extend! ”, Enthusiastically announced Jack Lang, president of the Institut du Monde Arabic de Paris (IMA) on his social networks, November 13.
The exhibition “What Palestine brings to the world”, has indeed achieved a huge success, both media and popular, since its inauguration with, specifies Jack Lang, a particular craze of young audiences.
By pure chance, the exhibition has coincided with the painful events that Gaza has known since October 7 and the genocide perpetrated by Tshal towards the Gazan population.
Since 2016, the IMA has housed in its walls the collection of the future National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Palestine, a “solidarity collection” of some 400 works made up of artist donations, gathered on the initiative of Elias Sanbar, writer and former Ambassador of Palestine to UNESCO, and coordinated by artist Ernest Pignon Ernest.
In 2023, the Institute chose to show the cultural effervescence that Palestine continues to reveal and maintain: a cycle of three exhibitions highlights modern and contemporary Palestinian artists, in a dialogue with their counterparts in the Arab world and the international scene.
