The opening with the Spanish film El Olivo

After the official opening, the days of the European film will take place from November 23 to 30 in several Tunisian cities.

It is the Spanish film “El Olivo” by director Isiar Bollain which will open the new edition of the days of the European film. In this film, a young girl and her grandfather are looking for an olive tree of a millennium.

The next day, from November 23 to 30, the festival will take place on several screens and will offer to discover around thirty films.

Organized by the delegation of the European Union in Tunisia, the days of the European film will take place in Tunis, the Kef, Menzel Bourguiba and Jemmel.

This event is a space for sharing that highlights the diversity of the visions of European filmmakers. 30 films from 22 countries of the European Union, awarded at the most prestigious festivals, will be screened at the Cinemas Le Rio, ABC in Tunis, Cinémadart in Carthage, the metropolis in Menzel Bourguiba, the Kef pocket theater and the Fernoun Center in Jemmel.

A Master-Class intended for students and young filmmakers will focus on the film’s sets “Quo Vadis Aida? With the Austrian film chief of the film, Hannes Salat, in conversation with Mohamed Attia, decorator, trainer and animal coordinator at the cinema.

Projections-debates will also be organized in Tunis, Menzel Bourguiba, Kef and Jemmel.

The days of the European film are organized by the delegation of the European Union in Tunisia and the EU member states in partnership with the French Institute of Tunisia, the Goethe Institute of Tunis, the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis, the General Delegation of Wallonia-Brussels in Tunisia, the Cervantes Institute of Tunis as well as the Embassies of the European Union represented in Tunisia.
