On the occasion of World Environment Day, Orange Tunisia has multiplied ecological initiatives. From the cleaning of the coasts to Ghar El Melh to investments in renewable energies, the operator affirms a structured environmental commitment, recognized by ISO 14001 certification.

To mark World Environment Day, Orange Tunisia organized an eco-responsible operation in Ghar El Melh, in collaboration with the Tounes Clean-Up association. The action has mixed cleaning, sorting of waste and awareness workshops with students from the primary school “El Intileka”, member of the network of ecological schools.

This operation is part of a partnership launched in 2022 with Tounes Clean-Up, which has already enabled 35 cleaning campaigns through urban, coastal and forest areas of the country. More than 1,500 participants were mobilized, and 57.7 tonnes of waste was collected, including 32.2 tonnes recycled – largely thanks to the Tunisia Recyclage association, with 3.5 tonnes of plastic and 28.7 tonnes of treated glass.

These efforts are part of a CSR strategy articulated around three axes: digital inclusion, diversity, and environmental protection, consistent with the United Nations sustainable development objectives (SDG).

A structured environmental strategy

Orange Tunisia also deploys an internal program focused on reducing its ecological impact. Among his priorities:

  • Reduction of water consumption, in particular thanks to solutions developed with Soul & Planet, allowing up to 70 % saving;
  • Improvement of energy efficiency, in collaboration with Wattnow, for saving up to 30 % on administrative sites;
  • Responsible management of waste with Colibris;
  • Deletion of single -use plastic in shops, replaced by ecological bags;
  • Digitalization of internal processes to tend towards zero paper;
  • Calculation of the carbon footprint and implementation of a reduction plan;
  • Deployment of solar energy on nearly 1000 technical sites, in partnership with ITS and STEG, aimed at reaching 15 % renewable energy in the overall consumption of the network.

A certified recognition

The operator’s environmental policy was recognized by ISO 14001 certification, obtained after an audit led by AFAQ AFNOR International. This standard attests to the implementation of a powerful environmental management system, guaranteeing rigorous control and continuous improvement of the company’s environmental impacts.

Human commitment as an engine

Beyond technical projects, Orange Tunisia relies on the commitment of its employees. Through the platform engages for Change, the company supports voluntary initiatives with a strong social and ecological impact, deployed everywhere in Tunisia.

With an approach combining field actions, technological innovations and collective mobilization, Orange Tunisia confirms that the ecological transition is now at the heart of its business identity.
