Land transport strike maintained from July 30 to August 1

The General Federation of Transport, attached to the Tunisian Labor Union (UGTT), confirmed the holding of a strike in the land transport sector. The movement will take place on July 30 and 31 as well as August 1, 2025. It aims to denounce the deterioration of working conditions and the absence of minimum safety guarantees.

In a publication dated July 28, Ghassen Ksibi, UGTT communications officer, announced the failure of negotiations with the government. According to him, state representatives rejected all union demands during the meeting held on the same day.

The Federation alerts on the obsolescence of equipment, the absence of work clothes, lack of prevention and difficult climatic conditions. She also mentions verbal and physical assaults suffered by agents during their service.

The union also criticizes the management of the file by the authorities. He criticizes the ministry for having demanded the nominative requisition lists even before the negotiation meeting. For the Federation, this approach harms social dialogue and does not constitute an acceptable solution.

In the absence of a satisfactory response from the government, the strike will be maintained. The Federation claims that workers will continue to mobilize to assert their rights.
