The Tunisian swimmer Ahmed Jaouadi (19) finished in fourth place in the 800m freestyle final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Sunday evening, narrowly missing the podium.
Despite a courageous race, the young Tunisian failed to materialize the hopes placed in him, finishing at the foot of the podium.
Author of the second best time of the 800m series (7: 41.53) behind the Irishman Daniel Wiffen, Jaouadi qualified for the final, disputed Sunday July 30 at 8 p.m. in the corridor 5.
The young Tunisian will also participate in the 1500 m freestyle on August 3 and in the 10 km marathon in free water on August 9.
Despite this fourth place, Jaouadi remains a hope of Tunisian swimming, following the footsteps of his compatriots Osama Mellouli (2 gold, 1 bronze) and Ayoub Hafnaoui (1 gold).
