A citizen event will mark, on August 2, 2025, the official launch of redevelopment work as part of the Womendina project.
The official kick -off of the transformation work on Place Garibaldi and rue Victor Hugo in Sousse will be given on Saturday August 2, 2025, on the occasion of a public event organized in the Gabadji Grandi district.
Womandina project
These developments are part of the Womendina project, carried out by the municipality of Sousse, in partnership with Cities Alliance, and with the support of Swiss and global Canada cooperation.
This citizen meeting will allow residents to discover the development plans, to dialogue with project managers and to make their voices heard on future uses of renovated spaces. Cultural activities and fun activities are also planned in a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
The project manager welcomed an “exemplary“ participative ”approach, which places citizens – and in particular women – at the heart of urban reflection. The project aims to be a concrete response to the needs expressed during participatory workshops and exploratory marches carried out since 2023.
