More than 24 million Algerians must vote this Saturday, September 7, 2024, to elect their President of the Republic.
They will have to choose between three candidates: Abdelmajid Tebboune, outgoing president; Abdelaali Hassani, engineer and leader of the Movement of the Society for Peace (MSP); and Youcef Aouchiche, former journalist and senator, head of the Front of Socialist Forces (FFS).
If the outgoing president Abdelmajid Tebboune is almost guaranteed to be re -elected for a second term, this presidential election will have the main issue the rate of participation
The first results could be announced on Saturday evening and at the latest Sunday.
