President Kaïs Saïed received, on June 14 at the Palais de Carthage, four Tunisians living in Switzerland: Lilia Dridi, Chaouki Darâaoui, Lassâad Limam and Fadi Bettaïeb. With other volunteers, they have taken steps to provide Tunisia nearly 200 buses in good condition, still used in Switzerland, as well as spare parts.
The president has welcomed their efforts since 2023 to make this project a reality, stressing its importance for public infrastructure. He recalled that Tunisia can only accept what respects its dignity and that of its people.
The interview also focused on the role of Tunisians abroad in supporting the national economy and the need to simplify the steps to facilitate their contribution. The president spoke of the obstacles encountered by some abroad or their return to Tunisia, calling for quickly deleting them.
Kaïs Saïed also denounced attempts to divert the buses to another country, with the support of certain parts abroad and, regrettably, in Tunisia. He said that those who harm such initiatives will no longer have their place in the administration.
He concluded by reaffirming his desire to build a Tunisia led by patriotic officials, attached to the general interest and the sovereignty of the country.
