The head of government, Kamel Madouri, said this Friday, October 4, 2024 on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts in Paris, the speech of Tunisia during the opening of the 19ᵉ summit of La Francophonie, on behalf of President Kaïs Saïed.
Madouri first transmitted the president’s greetings and expressed his pride of the results obtained under the Tunisian presidency since November 2022, marked by the Djerba summit, now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Madourri highlighted the progress made in French -speaking cooperation, particularly in the fields of cultural diversity, gender equality, support for youth and the development of economic, technological and scientific partnerships. He also called to strengthen the entrepreneurship and mobility of young people in French -speaking space.
Addressing crises in the Middle East, he firmly condemned the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, reaffirming Tunisia’s support for the Palestinian cause. He urged the international community to intervene to avoid climbing conflicts.
The Head of Government concluded by wishing France in his new functions at the head of the International Organization of La Francophonie.
