Their marriage will only have lasted only two years! Yasmine Tordjman, back granddaughter of Wassila Bourguiba, and Eric Besson, former UMP minister for immigration and national identity have decided, by mutual agreement, to divorce.
Eric Besson, himself confirmed to AFP on Thursday evening his divorce from his second wife Yasmine Tordjman, 28 years younger, with whom he was married in September 2010.
“As several media have unfortunately already made information public, and despite my systematic refusal to mention my private life, I confirm that my wife Yasmine and I decided to divorce amicably,” said Besson in a telephone call to AFP.
“I will systematically continue to justice those who invent explanations or grotesque and eccentric theses as well as the media which disseminated them,” added the former socialist official who had become a member of the government in 2007 after the election of Nicolas Sarkozy.
Yasmine Tordjman, a Franco-Tunisian student aged 26, is the granddaughter of Wassila Bourguiba. Two years ago, the formalization of his union with the former minister had made a lot of attention.
