After the tasting of no less than 152 baguettes, the jury of the Grand Prix of the Best Baguette de Paris chose that of Ridha Khadher, a baker of Tunisian origin and owner of the “Gourmand Paradise” in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. This is what the official website of the Paris town hall reports.
During this competition which took place Thursday, April 25, the various candidates were judged on the basis of five criteria: cooking, taste, crumbs, smell and appearance.
“The winner of the Grand Prix won a price in the amount of € 4,000 and becomes the official supplier of the Elysée for a year,” we learned on the site of the Paris City Hall.
Ridha Khadher is not the first Tunisian to win this competition since already in 2008, the baguette of another Tunisian, Anis Bouabsa, originally from Metline (Bizerte) had also been awarded.
