“” The El Gouna Film Festival was a pillar of artistic expression and cultural enrichment in the region. While we are embarking on the 7th edition of the festival, we receive a great interest from major cinema players from other regions such as the United States, China, India, and others, to participate in the GFF, and we are impatient to continue to serve as a dynamic platform for filmmakers and industry professionals around the world in order to connect, collaborate and inspire Egyptian and regional cinema ” added Naguib Sawiris.
“” The centralization of all activities focused on industry in the Plaza festival last year transformed it into a dynamic hub where industry professionals gathered to network and consider potential collaborations. Inspired by its success, and with our gaze turned towards the 7th edition, I am optimistic about our ability to further improve the experience of the festival, by promoting an even more dynamic and inclusive platform for industry stakeholders. We also work on the development of the new sections that we created last year, such as the Cinegouna Market“” said Amr Mansi, executive director of the GFF.
The GFF 2024 promises to offer an enriching cinematographic experience, including a meticulous selection of captivating films, discussions of enlightening panels, masterclasses and other immersive industry events. While the preparations take place, the festival remains faithful to its mission to celebrate the transformative power of the story and to defend the voices of the filmmakers of the MENA region and beyond.
Reflecting on the GFF route, Marianne Khoury, artistic director of the GFFshare his vision for the 7th edition: ” Navigating through the constantly evolving cinematographic landscape, the El Gouna film festival continuously pushed the limits, highlighting votes and various stories.
