Tunisia welcomed this Wednesday a first batch of bus from China Wednesday, as part of a large program to renew the urban transport park. A total of 109 vehicles, including articulated buses, were delivered by the manufacturer King Long.
Tunisia received, this Wednesday, June 18, 2025, a first contingent of 109 new buses at the port of La Goulette, marking the effective launch of an important purchasing program for urban transport vehicles.
Made by the Chinese manufacturer King Long, these buses – including several articulated models – represent the first tranche of a global agreement on 300 units.
The entire contract provides for the delivery of 140 standard buses and 160 articulated buses, at a total cost estimated at 152 million dinars. The second batch is currently being transported to Tunisia, after leaving China last week.
This major project, coordinated by the Ministry of Transport with the logistical and diplomatic support of the Tunisia Embassy in Beijing, aims to strengthen the public transportation park.
This partnership with King Long follows an official visit to Minister Rachid Amri in February 2025 at the manufacturer’s factory in Xiamen.
