Has Tunisia mortgaged its chances of qualification?

After her disappointing draw yesterday against the Comoros, Tunisia still missed the qualification march for the CAN 2025. But does she really have the means to qualify?

The observation is simple. Two days before the end of the playoffs, the Carthage Eagles are no longer entitled to error if they want to go to Morocco.

However, after the surprise defeat last Friday in Rades against the Comoros (0-1) on the 3rd day of the playoffs, Tunisia disappointed yesterday on behalf of the 4th day.

The national selection drew 1-1 with the Comoros in the match played in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as part of this 4th day of group A qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations.

The Comoros opened the scoring thanks to Faïz Selemani in the 49 ‘, before Tunisia equalized through Yassine Meriah in the 68’.

Thus, two days before the end of the qualifications, Tunisia remains at the top of group A with 7 points, in front of the Comoros (6 points), the Gambia (5 points) and Madagascar (2 points).

The result of yesterday, although salutary for Tunisians out of the blow, could mortgage their chances of participating in the next CAN knowing that the first two of the group qualify for the final phase scheduled in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Indeed, the last outings of the Carthage Eagles do not lead anything good and the last two games in this group A are already to take very seriously (which has not always been the case during this campaign).

Next month during which Madagascar – Tunisia (5th day) and Tunisia – Gambia (6th day) will be played, Tunisian supporters will be definitively fixed on the fate of their selection.
