Following the accusations of the European Cancer Centers against the Ministry of Health, on the project of an offshore private canceropole in El Hamma, the governorate of Gabès, the presidency of the government decided to react through a press release, made public this Monday evening of September 29, specifying that “the project to create a Cancerology hospital in the Khbayet region, was not rejected unlike the information relayed by certain media ».
The Presidency of the Government indicates that “this project could be carried out in accordance with the agreed procedures”.
“It should be recalled, that after a meeting of the high commission in charge of major projects, held on August 22, certain media had announced that the government had decided to reject the project to create a cancer hospital in Gabès”, initiated by European Cancer Centers (see its version on the issue), said the press release relayed by the TAP agency.
Wrongly charges
This information relayed by the media originated an open letter to the head of government Mehdi Jomaa of this ECC where it was mentioned that “the decision of the Higher Commission of the major projects was notified to ECC and mentions a refusal of the ECC project”.
Mark Keller, of his Tunisian name Riadh Khedher, as well as “European Cancer Centers” for which he works, was hard, with several press releases to attack the Tunisian government, speaking of blocking at the level of the Ministry of Health, even accusing it of “nepotism and corruption”, for the establishment of this offshore private hospital.
The deputy Habib Khedher asked the Jomaa government to react to the accusations of the ECC, adding that he was in the genesis of the project in his region.
Because of these accusations of the ECC, the delegation of El Hamma was the subject of cut roads and strikes.
