Building on the success of the last three editions, Orange launches the fourth of the Orange Prize of the social entrepreneur in Africa. It has a prize which aims to promote social innovation in favor of development, thanks to ICT.
Thus, Orange and its subsidiaries in Africa undertake to contribute to the development of the new technologies sector and to offer innovative solutions adapted to the needs of populations. This prize is perfectly integrated into the innovation strategy as well as in the group’s CSR policy and its subsidiaries.
Since the launch of this prize in 2011, more than 1,500 applications have been recorded, many of which from Tunisia, reflecting the real entrepreneurial dynamic and the potential for Tunisia and the entire African continent.
For the record, during the last edition, Tunisia was a winner thanks to Amine Chouaieb, who won 10,000 euros for her innovative CHIFCO project, a technological solution for optimizing energy consumption of the most energy -consuming or professional equipment.
The Orange Prize for the Social Entrepreneur in Africa will again reward three entrepreneurs or new companies this year offering products or services that are innovatively based on ICT to meet the needs of the populations of the African continent in various fields such as health, agriculture, education, energy, industry or even trade.
A special “Orange Partner” price of 10,000 euros will also be awarded for a fourth winner. In addition, an additional chance is offered to candidates by the possibility given to Internet users to elect their favorite online projects on the orange portal in Africa, Starafrica.com. The “Coup de Coeur” winner will see his file submitted directly to the jury among the other finalist projects pre -selected by the experts and will thus maximize his chances of being one of the winners of the 2014 Prize.
Note that in addition to one endowment ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 euros, the four winners of the price will benefit, for six months, from the expertise and know-how of professionals in entrepreneurship and ICT, and as last year, the lucky winner of the first prize will be offered by Orange a patent deposit in the country of deployment of his project.
Any entrepreneur over the age of 21 or any legal entity that has existed for less than three years at the time of the competition, without nationality restriction, can participate free of charge at this price.
