The Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, received, Wednesday, June 18 at the headquarters of the ministry, a high -level delegation from the Italian company Eni, specialized in the production of oil and gas. The delegation was led by Martina Opizzi, director of the North Africa region.
The meeting took place in the presence of the Secretary of State for the Energy Transition, Wael Chouchane, the AFEF Chechi Tlayari chief of staff, as well as several senior officials in the sector. Also present were Dalila Chebbi Boutour, CEO of the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (ETAP), and Hédi Chaâbane, Director General General of Hydrocarbons.
The discussions focused on the current ENI activities in Tunisia as well as its future investment projects in the field of hydrocarbons. The two parties highlighted the strategic importance of this sector in support for the national economy.
The Minister praised the historic role of ENI, a strategic partner of Tunisia in the fields of oil exploration and production since the 1960s. She reaffirmed the will of the Tunisian authorities to continue investment support and to strengthen cooperation with Italian society in the years to come.
As a reminder, the current daily production of operating concessions in which ENI is involved amounts to approximately 7,884 barrels of oil and 467,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
