Israel launched strikes on Tehran on the night of Friday to Saturday. According to Iranian media, “strong explosions” have been heard in the capital, but their origin remains uncertain. An AFP journalist also confirmed these detonations.
The Israeli army said it had led “precision strikes” to military targets in Iran, justifying these actions by months of Iranian attacks against Israel. The White House considered these strikes as self-defense, adding that the United States had been informed in advance, without participating.
Israeli strikes follow an Iranian attack on October 1, where about 200 missiles, including hypersonics, were drawn towards Israel. Tehran called these “reprisals” shots following Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
At the same time, the Syrian anti -aircraft defense intercepted “enemy targets” near Damascus, according to the official Syrian agency Sana, while Israel carried out its operations in Iran.
Iran reported “limited damage” on Saturday after air strikes against missile manufacturing sites. The Israeli attack on “military sites in the provinces of Tehran and those of Khouzestan (Southwest) and Ilam (West)”, bordering Iraq, caused “limited damage”, Iranian air defense forces.
