The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tunisia is organizing a Japanese and Mediterranean gardens cleaning campaign, as well as the avenue du Japan, on Sunday, June 1, 2014, from 8:30 am.
An event organized with the support of the Ministry of Equipment, Local Planning and Sustainable Development, the State Secretariat for Sustainable Development and the Municipality of Tunis; And with the participation of the JICA partners, the VNU, France Volunteers, the Association of Friends of the Belvedere and the Environmental Protection Association of Hammam Ghzez.
The JICA takes advantage of the approach to the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the volunteer program in Tunisia, and the celebration of World Environment Day, on June 5, in order to organize this cleaning campaign and invites anyone who wants to contribute to this action to join the teams of JICA volunteers and its partners.
The JICA, underlines in a press release, that it continues its environmental activity (management of water reserves, management and wastewater treatment, etc.), in support of the Tunisian government policy in this area, in order to promote Tunisian-Japanese cooperation in particular, in terms of safeguarding the environment, among others through its program to send volunteers in the field, without forgetting financial cooperation, technical cooperation and cooperation South-South.
The cleaning campaign will take place in the Japanese garden, avenue du Japan, Montplaisir, Tunis (right next to the Montplaisir mosque). This pilot action is part of awareness workshops on environmental protection, also intended for children.
