The French novelist David Foenkinos is currently in Tunisia at the invitation of the French Institute. He will present his books and films in Sousse, Sfax and Tunis where he participated in the International Book Fair.
After the release in January, of his novel “La Vie Happy”, David Foenkinos is in Tunisia for a week and meets the public, a first time, this Wednesday, April 17 at 5 p.m. at the Regional Library of Sousse during a session led by Sana Abroug.
Tomorrow, Thursday April 18 at 5.30 p.m., it will be the turn of the Maison de France in Sfax, to welcome Foenkinos for a meeting that will be moderate by Farouk Bahri.
Finally, as part of the Cultural Program of the International Book Fair of Tunis, the stand of the French Institute will welcome this Friday, April 19 at 5 p.m., a cross -meeting with Paule Constant and David Foenkinos. This meeting will be moderate by Ahlem Ghayaza.
In addition, two films adapted from Foenkinos’ novels are on the program this week: “jealous” and “the delicacy” respectively projected in Sousse and Sfax.
In “La Vie Happy”, his latest book published by Gallimard in January 2024, David Foenkinos is inspired by a Korean rite which proposes to attend his own funeral. In his previous novel, number two (Gallimard 2022), he stages the last two protagonists of the young boy’s selection cast who will play the role of Harry Potter.
This conference tour is the first visit to Tunisia for David Foenkinos.
