Cinematdour: an innovative initiative for cultural influence in Tunisia
Agora Djerba and the Focus Gabès association enthusiastically announces the launch of Cinématdour, A revolutionary project that brings the seventh art to the most distant regions of Tunisia. It is a mobile cinema truck with a capacity of 100 places, a first in Tunisia and Africa, thus offering cultural opportunities unprecedented to the interior areas of the country.
Cinématdour aims to fill the cultural gap by making cinema accessible to all, regardless of their place of residence. For this, this mobile cinema will undertake an ambitious tour through the Gabès region, set up for a month in each delegation. This initiative will allow the inhabitants of these localities to live an immersive cinematographic experience, thus enriching their daily lives by the magic of the big screen.
The inaugural tour of Cinématdour will start on April 27 in Gabès, in the prestigious framework of the Gabes Cinema Fen festival – قابس سينما فن, before continuing its journey through the governorate of Gabès from May 3. The eclectic program of Cinématdour promises to captivate spectators of all ages and from all horizons, offering a varied selection of films that will seduce the most demanding moviegoers.
Congratulations to the team behind this innovative project! Cinématdour responds to a crying need in Tunisia, where cinemas are mainly concentrated in the capital. It is time that each region of the country, even the most remote villages, can benefit from cinematographic art in all its splendor. This initiative marks an important step towards cultural democratization and a more equitable dissemination of film culture in Tunisia.
