The Tunisian Red Crescent (CRT), founded on October 7, 1956 and officially instituted by decree on May 6, 1957, after independence, celebrated its 58 years of existence on Tuesday, October 7.
The Tunisian Red Crescent, a non-profit social organization, remains a major humanitarian player at the national level as on the regional and international level.
Barely recognized, the CRT began, with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Federation of Red Cross and the Red Croissant Companies, a fruitful cooperation in the context of assistance to Algerian refugees based in Tunisia.
In addition to its classic activities to assist and protect vulnerable populations, the CRT has committed, in recent years, with other partners, to provide the necessary support for migrants regardless of their legal status.
