The Council of the Sfax Regional Section of the Association of Lawyers indicated that it “envisages all forms of activism” to resolve the waste crisis that pollute the region.
In a statement published this Friday, November 11, 2022, the Council of the Sfax Regional Section of the Association of Lawyers warned against the gravity of the environmental situation in Sfax, “having reached a dangerous threshold because of the heap of garbage, which presages an imminent environmental and health disaster directly threatening the lives of citizens of the region”.
Expressing its disappointment of the “prefistolity solutions adopted by the supervisory authorities”, the Sfax section council called all political powers, including the President of the Republic and the government’s chef, to intervene urgently.
He also ordered them “to give the importance that this file deserves, by presenting radical and effective solutions to put an end to the waste crisis”.
It should be recalled that the governor of Sfax, Fakher Fakhfakh said last Wednesday that he will contact the government’s chef, Najla Bouden and the Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine to officially request the intervention of the army in order to secure the roads and the facilities for transport and storage of waste.
