Tunisia officially joined the world alliance against hunger and poverty, launched on November 18, when the G20 summit was opened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the initiative of the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
According to a statement published on Friday, December 6, 2024, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, December 6, 2024, “this membership testifies to the determination of Tunisia to fight against all forms of poverty and inequality as well as its continuous support for all the initiatives which correspond to its principles in favor of the just causes of the peoples of the world”.
“The initiative comes to concretize the vision of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed who calls for building a new history of humanity based on justice, solidarity and equality between peoples and nations,” added the press release.
