The environmental situation is going from bad to Sfax where waste has been riding the streets for several months.

The images published on social networks are really distressing and the health risks are enormous, while the authorities are struggling to find the appropriate solutions.

Faced with this situation, the Sfaxians threaten to boycott the next legislative elections. This is confirmed by the UTICA representative to Sfax Slim Marrakchi.

Intervening on the Mosaic FM waves, he expressed a catastrophic situation claiming that citizens opted for climbing.

Sfax has been rushing for several months under waste. And for good reason the closure of the main discharge of the governorate leading to a catastrophic situation, especially in the heart of the city of Sfax.

Civil society activist Zied Mellouli reported an worsening of the environmental situation in the city. Speaking on Jawhara FM, he explains that the various municipalities have become unable to face the situation in the absence of radical solutions.

He also alerted against certain parts which are burning this waste in the streets of the city multiplying according to him, the health risks.

It should be recalled that the governor of Sfax, Fakher Fakhfakh said last Wednesday that he will contact the government’s chef, Najla Bouden and the Minister of the Interior, Taoufik Charfeddine to officially request the intervention of the army in order to secure the roads and the facilities for transport and storage of waste.
