Leïla Slimani, Author and personal representative of President Emmanuel Macron for La Francophonie inaugurated, yesterday Friday, November 18, the French Lycée Victor Hugo and the French Alliance of Djerba, on the sidelines of the 18th summit of La Francophonie.
In the presence of the Minister of Education, Fethi Sellauti, the French ambassador, André Parant, the director of the French education agency abroad, Olivier Brochet, and the president of the Foundation of French Alliances, Yves Bigot, Leïla Slimani paid tribute to the commitment of Jamel Ben Achour, founder of the Victor Hugo school group and president of the French Alliance of Djerba.
She praised the investment of the teams of the two establishments to disseminate and bring the French language and culture to life throughout the region.
The Lycée Victor Hugo, which opened in 2017 with 43 students and who today welcomes nearly 400, “reflects the dynamism of the French education network in Tunisia which now has 18,300 students”, according to a press release from the French Embassy in Tunisia.
