A doctor from Gabès practicing in Tunis, one day a month to treat the most deprived people in his region.
The Gabès Regional Health Council published a statement to denounce this initiative and prohibit the doctor from treating in Gabès. A decision that has caused a lot of ink to flow and that has aroused everyone’s indignation.
In this context, Dr Monji Gnounou, president of the Gabès Regional Health Council explained, at the microphone of Mosaic FM, this Wednesday, December 14, 2022, that “the problem does not concern the humanitarian aspect, but rather respect for the law”.
He clarified that each doctor exercising under the supervision of a regional council, must exercise exclusively in the region where he is assigned, even if it is free of charge.
