Beautiful journey of the national pétanque team during the world championship which took place in Dijon, France, from December 5 to 8.
The national selection, composed of Mohamed Khaled Bougriba, Majdi Hammami, Sofien Ben Brahim and Lassad El May, was illustrated by winning the bronze medal in triplet.
The Tunisian selection started the competition with four victories by beating Finland, Lebanon, Cambodia and Argentina, and by conceding a single defeat against France. This route allowed him to access the knockout stages after a new victory against Malaysia and a defeat against Madagascar, finishing second in his group.
In the round of 16, Tunisia beat Germany before eliminating Luxembourg in the quarterfinals. Beaten yesterday in the semi-finals by Italy, the Tunisian selection will therefore be satisfied with the bronze medal.
In another register, Raed Karoui, who participated in the World Youth Petanque Championship in traditional play, organized at Puerto Rico won the silver medal in precision shooting and the bronze medal in-head (-18 years old) while alsosama Balti won the bronze medal in handset (-23).
