The National Institute of Meteorology (INM) announces the arrival of strong climatic disturbances in the North West and the Center-West of the country. Sometimes intense rains, accompanied by hail and strong winds, are planned this Saturday in several governorates.
In a follow-up form published this Saturday morning, the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) warned of the arrival of active thunderstorm cells in the regions of the North West and Center-West. These thunderstorms will be accompanied by locally abundant rains, likely to gradually extend to the eastern regions.
The governorates of Kasserine, Siliana, Zaghouan, Kairouan and Kef are particularly concerned by this precipitation. According to forecasts, the quantities of rain could reach between 20 and 40 millimeters in places, with a risk of hail.
At the same time, the winds should be strengthened in the southwest of the country, locally lifting whirlwinds of sand. Raffales temporarily exceeding 80 km/h are also expected during the passage of thunderstorm cells.
