It happened yesterday, Thursday 24 current, on the road connecting Nabeul to Hammamet, when citizens, realizing the presence of a truck loaded with semolina and flour, these very rare and so prized foodstuffs, did not hesitate to loot it.
Rolling on the Nabeul-Hammamet road, this truck, carrying 20 quintals of semolina and flour, was taken by storm in the middle of the road, causing traffic jams and a traffic disturbance on this important communication route between these two tourist cities.
In this regard, a video of the incident in question has circulated on social networks, showing the gathering of citizens around the truck, in images translating these really deplorable behaviors.
In response to these reprehensible acts, the regional director of trade of Nabeul, Samir Khalfaoui, declared, today Friday, August 25, 2023 on Mosaic FM, that the regional trade department and the security authorities began to track down the citizens who robbed the truck in question, to court them.
Khalfaoui said that the truck should distribute 30 tonnes of these products in Nabeul and Sousse, 10 of which were stolen by residents of Hammamet.
