Tunisia, the 4th cheapest country in the world. Including the Marsa?

According to, the NuMbeo Cost of Living site, Tunisia is the 4th cheapest country in the world. For this ranking, the site is based on various data such as the price of rent, the cost of foodstuffs, purchasing power, restaurant prices, etc.

Tunisia therefore ranks 4th in the world, after India, Nepal, and Pakistan and just before Algeria.

Switzerland, Norway, Venezuela, Iceland and Denmark win the palm of the countries where life is the most expensive.

It would be interesting to know how they calculate their averages, knowing that according to their own figures, the cost of living at the Marsa and that of Gabès for example, have nothing in common.

To have a little idea:

A restaurant for two people, average range, goes to 50 dinars at La Marsa and 10 in Gabès. Local beer goes from 6 to 3 dinars. Basic Capuchin, from 1,800 dinars to 700 millimes.

The rent of a 3 -room apartment of 1466 dinars at 600. And is strange, the same model of car is not sold at the same price, it is sold 20% more expensive in the Marsa.
