“Agent 86”, Sino-Tunisian co-production is about to go out in Tunisian rooms. The action film will have its first this Friday in Tunisia, before experiencing a commercial outing in Tunisian rooms on September 25.
Agent 86 presents itself as a thriller which follows an international team of special forces, united in a fierce fight against cross -border drug trafficking. The intrigue focuses on the appearance of an addictive drug, nicknamed “the breath of the devil”, which wreaked havoc on the Hong Kong market.
One of the main engines of this project is the Tunisian actor and director Bassem Khayati. A true figure in action cinema, Khayati is not content to make and produce this film, he is also one of the protagonists.
His career, marked by many collaborations with renowned Chinese productions, makes it an ideal choice to embody this key role. Khayati notably distinguished himself in many action films, notably with Jackie Chan as the expert of combat scenes.
The release of “Agent 86”, which was a series before becoming a film, marks an important step for Tunisian cinema, often looking for international influence. This partnership with China opens up new perspectives for local productions, offering increased visibility and recognition beyond borders.
A partnership which is part of the context of strengthening strategic cooperation between Tunisia and China, following the state visit of President Saïed in China, from May 28 to June 1, 2024.
