Abu Oubayda, spokesperson for the Al-Qassam brigades, the military branch of the Islamic resistance movement (Hamas), announced on Monday February 10, 2025 that the liberation of Israeli prisoners held by the movement would be delayed until the Israeli occupation respects the terms of the cease-fire agreement and compensates the obligations of past weeks, retroactively.
Abu Oubayda said that the resistance management had observed enemy violations over the past three weeks and its non-compliance with the terms of the ceasefire agreement, including the delay in the return of the displaced to the north of Gaza, as well as the strikes and the shots which targeted them.
He added that “the enemy delayed the return of the displaced to the north of Gaza and targeted them by strikes and shots in different areas of the Gaza Strip”, and also prevented the entry of humanitarian aid in all its forms, contrary to what had been agreed, while the resistance respected its commitments.
He said that “the delivery of Israeli prisoners, scheduled for next Saturday, February 15, will be postponed until further notice, until the occupation respects its commitments and compensates the obligations of past weeks, retroactively. We reaffirm our commitment to the terms of the agreement as long as the occupation adheres to it ”.
