Tunisia did not have success in its first match of the 2025 world handball championship, played this Tuesday, January 14. Opposed to Italy, the national selection underwent a defeat of 32 to 25, after a first half marked by a delay of six goals (17-11).
The Tunisians started the meeting well, but were quickly overwhelmed by the fast and precise game of the Italians. After a balanced start to the match, the Tunisian team gradually lost its pace, allowing Italy to take a clear advance.
This defeat puts Tunisia in a delicate position for the rest of the competition, especially since its next opponent is none other than Denmark, triple reigning world champion and co-organizer of the tournament. The challenge promises to be major for Tunisians, who will have to bounce back quickly to hope to stay in the race.
