In an official press release published by the Presidency of the Republic, it was announced that Kaïs Saïed signed a decree of presidential grace on the occasion of the Festival of the Republic. This decision concerns 745 detainees who will be released.
Presidential grace is a republican tradition in Tunisia, often renewed during major national festivals such as March 20 (Independence Festival), or July 25 (Festival of the Republic).
