An agreement was concluded for the resumption of work on the strategic project of the Southern Gas station located in Ghordhab, in the governorate of Tataouine, from next week. The announcement was made this Wednesday, July 23, 2025 by the governor of the region, Amir Gabsi, after a working meeting held at the headquarters of the governorate.
This meeting brought together the representatives of the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (ETAP), of the company responsible for carrying out the project, of the subcontracting company as well as a group of workers concerned. The main objective was to bring the points of view closer and to solve the pending problems that blocked the progress of the site.
The Governor assured that the regional authorities will continue their efforts to remove the remaining obstacles, in order to guarantee the conditions necessary for the continuation of the work of this major national project, which consists of a natural gas treatment station and the filling of liquefied gas cylinders.
The Gordhab station refers to a gas project located in the said region in the governorate of Tataouine, Tunisia. It is a gas production station developed by the Tunisian petroleum activity company (ETAP) to treat gas from the south of the country, including the Nawara gas field
