After the tragic collapse of part of the Kairouan medina ramparts, a similar incident took place in Monastir without fortunately victims.
It is in this context that the Monastir government warned the collapse of certain historical buildings inside the medina of Monastir.
Speaking in media statements, Mondher Ben Sik Alle said that this situation is caused by the strong precipitation recorded in recent times.
“We have made an inventory of all the historical buildings threatened to preserve them,” he also added.
Yesterday Tuesday, part of Bab Houmet Trabelsia de Monastir collapsed because of the last precipitation. Fortunately, the disintegration of the building was not a victim, said the regional commissioner of cultural affairs, Chokri Tlili, on Jawhara FM. Barriers have been installed while waiting for the restoration of the building.
