Abderrazak Hedhili, advisor to the office of the Minister of Health and responsible for monitoring files related to national pharmaceutical policy, announced this Wednesday, July 23, 2025 on Wednesday, a Chinese group specializing in the manufacture of drugs, especially biological, as well as medical devices, plans to invest in Tunisia.
Hedhili said, on national radio waves, that this investment could open up export prospects to African markets. He highlighted the central role that Tunisia can play as a regional platform for the pharmaceutical industry, in particular thanks to its strategic geographic position.
The manager recalled the importance of current dynamics towards the African continent, qualifying the African market as “promising”. He cited the example of Tunisian laboratories who have already started export operations or implanted units in countries like Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal.
Finally, Hedhili insisted on the need to attract more investors in the pharmaceutical sector while preserving the sovereignty of national decisions, in order to strengthen the role of Tunisia as a gateway to Africa.
