The Office of the Attorney General in Libya announced that he was able to identify the author of the attempted murder against the Minister of the Libyan Government, Adel Jomaa.
In a statement on his official page, he said that the individual had left the country to go to Tunisia after committing his crime.
The prosecutor’s office said that he had “taken measures to pursue him outside the national jurisdiction through international cooperation mechanisms and ordered the search for accomplices in the incident and their arrest”.
The Minister of State in charge of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Libyan national unity in Tripoli, Adel Jomaa, had been the victim of an assassination attempt after leaving the village “Palm City” – which houses the headquarters of the United Nations mission – to the west of the Libyan capital.
According to a source close to the minister, an armed group opened fire on Adel Jomaa while traveling on the highway, which led two balls in his legs, before the group fled, reports Libyan media.
