After a first victory yesterday, as part of the 1st round of the WTA 500 tournament of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Ons Jabeur (33rd WTA) will today face the Japanese Wakana Sonobe (837th).
The two players have never faced themselves before and if the Tunisian can boast of being better positioned in the WTA ranking and of being more experienced, the Japanese, aged only 17, has the merit of having won the Australian Open, this season with juniors.
This duel therefore promises to be undecided between the two players today from 3 p.m. (Tunisian hour). A match that will be broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Sports 2 channel.
Recall that let’s Jabeur started the tournament with a success against the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko (35th) in two sets (7-6, 7-5) while Wakana Sonobe comes from the qualifications. She defeated Hailey Baptiste, Cristina Bucsa and Yue Yuan on behalf of the 1st round.
