The Bizerte bridge again operational

Ten days after an incident that saw a hit boat, the Bizerte mobile bridge, it is again operational.

He was successfully lifted on the night of Wednesday, March 13, 2024, allowing blocked ships to leave the Bizerte Canal, a week after stopping lifting operations.

On March 4, an cargo cargo hit the Bizerte mobile bridge causing the suspension of the Bizerte bridge and the opening of an investigation to determine the causes of the accident knowing that this freighter hit the mobile bridge during its docking while it was preparing to load the quantities of iron intended for export, after having derived due to the wind force.

The meeting of the Regional Rescue Committee supervised by the Governor of Bizerte, Samir Abdelaoui had also set a set of measures following this accident of the Bizerte bridge, including the closure of the Quai number 1 of the Bizerte commercial port.

Recall that a fire broke out last July in one of the electrical adjustment stations located at the bottom of the Bizerte mobile bridge control cabin causing significant material damage.

Entering the farm in 1980, the Bizerte bridge has faced, for the past twenty years, to serious maintenance problems in addition to automotive and port traffic which is no longer suitable for this work that has become Out of Date.
