The entrepreneur, responsible for catering and maintenance work for the Kairouan medina rampart received a sentence of 18 months in prison.
At the judgments since the collapse of part of the Kairouan medina wall, which had caused three workers on December 16, 2023, the entrepreneur, in charge of restoration and maintenance work of the rampart received a sentence of 18 months in prison.
He was sentenced, Monday, April 22, 2024, by the criminal chamber of the Kairouan Court of First Instance, who also decided not to continue the engineer in charge of the wall restoration project.
This part of the wall located near the Great Mosque of Kairouan (Oqba Ibn Nafi) had ceded even before the work of its renovation, collapsing on workers and passers -by. The incident resulted in the death of three people and injured three others.
In November 2018, part of this wall had already collapsed without, however, victims.
