The investigating judge of the first office of the Court of First Instance of Gabès issued, Monday, July 15, 2024, a warrant for deposit against the former mayor of Gabès.
The decision to issue a warrant against the former mayor of Gabès intervened after his interrogation concerning the accusations brought against him.
These include the acceptance of bribes and gratuities, the exploitation of his position as a public official to obtain an unjustified advantage for himself or for others, detrimental to the administration, as well as the violation of applicable regulations, in accordance with the provisions of article 96 of the Criminal Code, as reported by the National Radio, quoting the official spokesperson for the first instance court of Gabès, Faouzi Dergham.
This former mayor of Gabès was arrested in the evening of Friday July 12, 2024. It should be noted that the investigating judge had previously issued a mandate to bring against him because of his absence despite several convocations.
