The Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, chaired on Tuesday July 15, 2025 at the headquarters of the ministry, a meeting dedicated to examining the Restructuring Program of the Tunisian Company for Mining Products (STTP).

During this meeting, a detailed inventory of the current situation of the company was presented, highlighting the major challenges it faces, in particular the weakness of transport capacities and the urgent need to modernize the fleet and equipment. Adjustments deemed essential to support the growing rate of phosphate production expected in the coming years.

Participants also discussed different avenues aimed at improving the profitability of the company, strengthening the quality of its services and ensuring its long -term sustainability.

The Minister underlined the strategic importance of this restructuring program to allow the company to meet market requirements, while calling for accelerating the implementation of reforms and mobilizing the necessary investments. The objective is clear: to transport an essential lever to support the production and exports of the GAFSA phosphates company (CPG).

It has also insisted on the need to overcome existing obstacles, while preserving the social dimension of the project, in particular by enhancing internal skills and the strengthening of training and professional support opportunities.

The meeting brought together, alongside the Minister, the director general of the STTP, Makram Saaidia, the CEO of the CPG, Abdelkader Amaïdi, as well as a certain number of senior executives of the ministry.
