The Minister of Commerce Samir Abidi chaired, Tuesday, July 15, a meeting dedicated to the preparations for Tunisian participation in the 4th edition of the African Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF), scheduled for Algiers from September 4 to 10, 2025.
Organized at the headquarters of the Ministry of Commerce and Development of Exports, the meeting enabled the coordination unit to finalize the main lines of the Tunisian presence at this major continental event.
A 304 m² pavilion for 24 companies
Tunisia will deploy a national pavilion of 304 m², under the banner of Team Tunisia Export, with the participation of 24 exporting companies: 12 SMEs, 8 craftsmen, 4 startups, as well as an institutional space bringing together CEPEX, FIPA, ONTT and the National Crafts Office.
Objective: visibility and diversification
The Minister called for a total mobilization of stakeholders in order to guarantee an “effective, visible and structured” presence. He insisted on the quality of the presentation of Tunisian products and the diversity of sectors represented: textiles, leather, cosmetics, construction, crafts, and above all, car components.
A dedicated space will be reserved for the automotive sector within the Automotive Show, in order to capture the interest of foreign investors.
A strategic meeting for African trade
Organized by Afreximbank, the African Union and the Secretariat of the ZLECAF, the IATF is a major exchange platform between economic operators, public institutions and donors.
The 2025 edition of Algiers promises to be the most ambitious, with more than 2,000 expected exhibitors, 35,000 professional visitors and a volume of transactions estimated at $ 44 billion.
A return in force
Tunisia had already participated in the 2023 edition in Cairo, with a 260 m² stand piloted by CEPEX, bringing together around twenty exhibitors. The challenge in 2025 will be to amplify this dynamic by consolidating links with African markets, in particular Algeria, now the first African trading partner in Tunisia.
