A seismic shock of a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale, felt by the inhabitants of Gaâfour, was recorded yesterday, Friday September 27, 2024 at 9:18 p.m. local time, southwest of the Gaâfour region, in the governorate of Siliana, according to a press release from the National Institute of Meteorology.
The preliminary analyzes of seismological stations of the Institute located the epicenter of the earthquake at a latitude of 36.24 degrees and a longitude of 9.24 degrees.
Recall that on September 18, the seismic surveillance stations of INM had already recorded a telluric shock of a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale about 11 km west of the city of Krib, in the governorate of Siliana.
