The accusation chamber No. 10 of the Tunis Court of Appeal confirmed, this Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the decision of the investigating judge of the Tunis court of First Instance to classify the expenses retained against the former president of the Tunisian Football Federation, Wadie Jary, in a case of falsification.
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the accusation chamber No. 10 of the Tunis Court of Appeal confirmed the decision of the investigating judge of the Tunis court of Tunis to classify the expenses chosen against the former president of the Tunisian football federation, Wadie Jary, in a falsification case.
Initially, a warrant had been issued against him for accusations of falsification, possession and use of falsified documents, as well as abuse of function with a view to obtaining an undue advantage and of prejudice to the administration.
However, at the end of the investigation, the investigating judge concluded that there is a sufficient legal elements to characterize these offenses, thus leading to the closure of the file.
It should be noted that Wadie Jary remains incarcerated in the context of another case. On February 20, 2025, the criminal chamber of the Tunis court of first instance sentenced him to four years in prison, accompanied by a ban on exercising a public service.
This conviction follows accusations of abuse of function to obtain industrial advantages and prejudice to the administration, in conjunction with a recruitment contract of a former technical director of national football teams. In this same case, a technical framework, currently on bond, was sentenced to six years in prison.
As a reminder, Wadie Jary was arrested in October 2023 for suspicions of financial corruption.
