These episodes of mediated “dissent” give the illusion of an internal democratic debate, but reality on the ground remains relentless. Even today, when we deplore 10 dead, including seven children in a new Israeli strike in Gaza, and the results have been more than 1,240 dead since Israel has interrupted the break and relaunched its offensive, military operations continue without interruption despite international convictions. History is repeated: after each pseudo-concestation, Israeli policy remains unchanged, even hardens. Colonization intensifies, the bombings continue, and the Palestinian oppression worsens. This “sling” is only a smoke curtain masking a system that has transformed dissent into a propaganda tool.
