A group of deputies at the Assembly of People’s Representatives has tabled a bill to establish the system of the single session in public schools.
This project, according to MP Rim Essghir, aims to end the negative effects of the current system based on double vacation (morning and afternoon), as it explained during its intervention on Mosaique FM.
The deputy specified that this bill has seven articles and concerns both primary schools, colleges and high schools. It is based on a reorganization of school time which takes into account the psychological and physical balance of students, reduces school fatigue and aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning conditions.
Rim Essghir also indicated that the single session offered would be lasting five hours, either in the morning or in the afternoon, depending on the establishments. She stressed that this reform is part of a desire to adapt to current social developments.
This project thus relaunches the debate around the modernization of the Tunisian education system, long criticized for its trying pace and not very suitable for the real needs of the students.
